April News!

"'He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said. Come, see the place where He was lying."
Matthew 28:6

Easter. Is. My. FAVORITE. The cross and the resurrection are the pivotal events of history, and for those of us who call Jesus our Lord, the Easter celebration strikes deep into our hearts. My prayer for your families this month is that you would experience a deep and rich resurrection joy this year-- not only this month but every day! I hope it rattles our cages ... our God was once dead ... but the grave could not hold Him. He is risen indeed!

Greetings to all of my admitted students! Happy April! For those of you who were recently admitted, click here to learn more about this blog and about me, your Northwestern admission counselor.

NEXT STEPS
1. Pay $200 enrollment deposit as soon as possible after being officially admitted. (See full post below.)
2. Submit your housing preferences on theROCK, our student portal, approximately two weeks after you've paid your enrollment deposit. (See full post below.)
3. Apply for financial aid. (See full post below.) I recommend you apply as early as you're able; our financial aid office has already awarded over 400 students. Our priority deadline is May 1st.
4. Follow the instructions included in our recent registration packet mailing. These will instruct you to log into theROCK to complete your pre-registration materials so that you can register for fall classes! These online forms include a health history form, your immunization records, a promissory note, a willful participation form, an academic support policies form, and your Summer Preparation Day request form. The six days you may choose from are April 30, May 26, June 18, July 7, July 20, and August 10. At your Summer Preparation Day, you will register for fall classes with your academic advisor, meet other new Eagles, and meet with your prep coach to make sure you're squared away to come in the fall! Keep in mind that some classes do fill up, so you'll want to come to the earliest registration day possible for you!

CAMPUS NEWS
April 7th is the 11th annual Day of Prayer and Service. On this day, there are no classes, and students load about 30 buses to various local service projects. The Day includes a dedicated 24 hours of prayer and worship, a celebration kick-off event and a picnic lunch for the campus community.

Interested in theatre? Make plans to see one of our spring shows. We have a collection of three different shows with performances this month; we call it our "Summer Stock in April."

If you need "one last look around" before you make your final college decision, please consider coming to one of our Spring Preview Days, most Fridays this month-- and in addition, think about setting up an overnight stay in the dorms before or after your visit. That will really help you understand Northwestern's community and residence life!

Can't wait to hear from you! Keep those questions coming my way!
In Christ Jesus,
Jackie Lea
